Implants - Clinic for dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics - Dres. Schmoll, Wiens & Colleagues - Eppelheim/Heidelberg

For many years one of the main focuses of our clinic has been implants.

Prof. Dr. Jörg Schmoll is one of the first implantologists to be certified by the German dental association and has been working in this field for more than 30 years.

We work with various implant systems and are able to use whichever is best suited to you.

Implants are artificial tooth roots made of tissue-compatible material (titanium or ceramic). They are anchored in the jaw, so that dental prostheses (crowns, bridges and other prostheses) can later be attached.

An example for their indication is

  • the toothless jaw – implants with snap fasteners or magnets make it possible to achieve an optimal hold for preexisting prostheses as well.
  • A single missing tooth can be replaced without the need for grinding adjacent teeth in order to fit a bridge.
  • If teeth are missing in one side of a jaw, implants make a removable prosthesis unnecessary.

Modern implants require only a very short healing phase. In many cases a crown can be attached on the same day the implant is anchored. Furthermore, implantological procedures today are completely pain-free and less stressful to the patient than a large filling.

We are able to fit an implant in nearly every case, even with very poor bone condition.
