Implants
Toothless jaw

There are many implantological ways to treat a toothless jaw. The simplest alternative is to anchor pre-existing prostheses to two implants with snap fasteners. This alternative is by far the easiest and most economical treatment for the mandible (lower jaw).
In the maxilla (upper jaw) – because the bone is much softer – four implants and a so-called 'bar' are necessary. This is a small metal support bracket that is screwed to the implants, and to which the prosthesis will be secured. The result will be as solid as a rock. Test it by biting into a firm apple; you will find that the prosthesis is just as strong as your own teeth.
The best solution for the maxilla and mandible is a fixed bridge prosthesis anchored to at least 6 implants per jaw. In between there are other forms of treatment, for example a prosthesis that leaves the entire gum exposed.
